The mission of the Corporation for National and Community Service is to improve lives, strengthen communities, and foster civic engagement through service and volunteering. The Corporation provides opportunities for more than 2 million Americans of all ages and backgrounds to serve through Senior Corps, AmeriCorps and Learn and Serve America.

Over the last decade, the Corporation for National & Community Service and Points of Light (Institute) have partnered to create some of the national service movement’s most far-reaching social impact. The Points of Light Institute was recently awarded a 3-year, multi-million dollar Cooperative Agreement for CNCS’ Volunteer Organization Capacity Building initiative. Through this agreement both organizations will strive to build a strong volunteer and service network and increase the impact in communities across the country.

CNCS also co-sponsors the annual National Conference on Volunteering and Service with Points of Light Institute— the world’s largest gathering of volunteer and service leaders.
